Substitute Teacher Information

HOW TO APPLY
 
The application process is a two-step process for ALL substitute Teachers
In an effort to streamline the process and facilitate direct communication between the SPTRB and the applicant, you will be required to do the following:
  1. Please begin your application online with Northern Lights School Division at https://Northern-Lights-School-Division.scouterecruit.net/jobs/NLSD113
  • You will be asked to supply your resume at this time
  • You will be provided with a letter of request for a Vulnerable Sector Search no later than one day following this initial           application to your email
  1. After completing the initial application, please watch your email for instructions regarding the next steps in the application process - Please follow instructions specific to your level of certification 
  • This email will direct you to also apply online through the SPTRB website
  • This email will provide you with a placeholder document which contains a message to the SPTRB from NLSD
  • This email will provide you with a link to upload your Vulnerable Sector Search to your NLSD application
 
Temporary Teaching Permit Applications 
   (If you do NOT have a Saskatchewan Professional A Teaching Certification)
 
If you have never had a Temporary Teaching Permit, the SPTRB will request the following information:
  • Resume
  • Current Criminal Record Check (with a Vulnerable Sector Search - you will receive a letter of request to print for RCMP within the next 24 hours) 
  • Copy of birth certificate or passport
  • Documentation of any name change (marriage, divorce, etc.)
  • Transcripts/copies of certifications
  • Authorization to Teach (use placeholder document from the email received after the first application)
    • NLSD will forward an Authorization to Teach on your behalf upon receipt of your CRC with Vulnerable Sector Search
If you are renewing your Temporary Teaching Permit, the SPTRB will request the following information:
 
  • Current Criminal Record Check (with a Vulnerable Sector Search - you will receive a letter of request to print for RCMP within the next 24 hours) 
  • Documentation of any name change (marriage, divorce, etc.)
  • Transcripts/copies of certifications since your last application
  • Authorization to Teach (use placeholder document from the email received after the first application)
    • NLSD will forward an Authorization to Teach on your behalf upon receipt of your CRC with Vulnerable Sector Search
Saskatchewan Professional A
If you are currently certified with a Saskatchewan Professional A
  • Please register as a Substitute Teacher for Northern Lights School Division 113 with the SPTRB
  • Current Criminal Record Check (with a Vulnerable Sector Search - you will receive a letter of request to print for RCMP within the next 24 hours) 
As per the Teacher Classification Guidelines, please submit the following to NLSD Human Resources
  • Current Resume
  • Copy of a valid Saskatchewan Teaching Certification (Professional A)
  • Official Transcripts 
  • Letters from previous schools (Divisions) indicating the number of teaching days, with dates, of previous teaching experience (Provincial Agreement Article 3.1)
